Welcome to Miss Madaline! Located in SouthEast Michigan I am a mother to 3 small boys who love playing in the garden. They have been by my side through it all. This spring I will offer a wide variety of Dahlia tubers and seeds for you to tuck into your own garden. Seed packets are also available in a variety of flowers that have all been grown here in my garden, pollinated by the many bees and butterflies that bless my garden each day. Giving back to not only the community but also pollinators is essential to me. I hope my garden inspires you to grow your own.
Collecting seeds from my garden has been a source of therapy for me. It allows me to follow though full circle with every single seedling that I started the season prior. It is so rewarding watching your seed grow into a beautiful bloom that bees and butterflies search for. I personally get attached to the colors or particular variety of flower I have- so collecting the seed allows me to ensure I’ll be growing the same adored flower as the year before. You do not need a large space to create the cutting garden of your dreams or just for visual purpose. I maximize every inch of space and that allows me to layer and grow so many varieties.
I pride my garden on being a pollinator friendly garden. The most unique tiny green bees climb all over my sunflowers. Big bumble bees hang from the honeywort blooms and tiny sweat bees hop from Poppy to Poppy. I have swallowtail and Monarch butterflies daily and the occasional hummingbird. I do not spray insecticides and will wait to deadhead a bloom if a bee is sleeping inside for the night. Purposeful planting can benefit your garden in so many ways. It keeps your garden and surrounding areas pollinated and flourishing along with upping the bee population that so desperately needs help. Having flowers in bloom spring, summer and fall not only is beautiful to look at but keeps the pollinators fed until winters nap.
Be the first to know about shop updates, tuber sales and seed launches.
All tubers will be shipped in Spring once freezing temperatures have passed and it’s deemed safe to do so. I will not hold tubers past April 30th. All tubers must be shipped with USPS Priority 2 Day shipping due to the nature of the product. Seed orders will be shipped separately from tubers.
Please contact me within 10 days of receipt if there seems to be a issue with your dahlia. If I cannot replace it a credit will be applied, minus the cost of shipping.
Miss Madaline is not responsible for failure to thrive due to weather conditions, soil conditions, pest management, chemical applications or owner neglect. Dahlias are the Divas of the garden for a reason! They require attention and are not a “set it and forget it” type of plant.
While I am by no means a expert in Dahlias nor do I have a horticultural degree I do encourage you to email me with any questions you may have! I will always do my best to help, if I cannot resolve your issue I will happily point you in the right direction.
Basic growing instructions can be found on my site but it is your responsibility to know your zone and conditions you will be growing in. I am Zone 6a in SE Michigan
